Disenchanted with life as an award winning comedian and star of a long running children’s show, Miles Jupp looked up at the press box on the day England won the 2005 Ashes and dreamed a dream of becoming a cricket correspondent. Under twelve months later and the dream is a reality. Trouble is, Miles not only finds himself out of his depth, he also finds himself out of work and 4,000 miles away from home, covering England’s tour of India without a an official press pass and some dodgy links as to why he’s there at all.
From first to last, Jupp delivers an engaging story of derring do (lies), subterfuge (lies) and duplicity (lies) that saw him reach his aims, meet his heroes and rub shoulders with cricket’s elite, though not in exactly the way he intended.

Do you need to know about Cricket? No. Do you need to be a journalist? No, after all Jupp got away with it. All you need is to sit back and revel in one-and-a-quarter hours of pure anecdotal joy that will leave you giggling all the way home and safe in the knowledge that, armed with a just a little determination and an a whole lot of bottle, anything is possible.
