Mark Nelson is a young police officer, newly assigned to the team of
John Mercer - a highly-decorated and successful detective, and author
of a best-selling true crime book based on his years of experience catching
killers. Mercer is a legend in the force and it's a huge opportunity
for Mark, who has dedicated his life to his job ever since the death
of his girlfriend years before. When a man is found burned to death
in his own home, Mercers team is thrown into an investigation that grows
darker and more complex at every turn.
Steve Mosby has created a world in which the very nature of love and loyalty are tested at each turn of the page. The “Three Little Words” are easy to say, but here the author painstakingly explores just how difficult they can be to back up, as Mosby takes the reader on high-speed thrill ride of heart stopping proportions.
In Mercer, Nelson et al, the author has created characters so well rounded each step they take on the road to discovery is nerve shredding until – with the most exhilarating of denouements – the author finally ends the emotional turmoil, with style and finesse. His descriptive prose, too, are a delight as each and every crack of a twig and scream of anguish explodes from the page with shocking effect.
All in all, Steve Mosby’s The
50/50 Killer is an outstanding read guaranteed to get
you running for its two predecessors as soon as you’ve finished.
