SNOW PATROL - FINAL STRAW 2004 |
![]() |
|||||
| There are certain things in life that are essential; air, water, food, love and the Snow Patrol album, Final Straw. This is what stereo systems were made for from first mighty track to indomitable last. It is sound perfection, lyrically poetic and musically solid in all aspects. | ||||||
|
From
the argumentative first song of How To Be Dead, describing a two-way
tiff with just one voice, the song is a masterpiece in song writing
that most artists would struggle to better within another five albums.
Snow Patrol do so within a single track; take a listen to Wow,
track two, and tell me I'm wrong. The
album ranges from the deep and meaningful - such as Run - to the plain
silly fun stuff - like Spitting Games or Chocolate, and calls at all
stations in between. This
album has won award after award in the past 12 months and deservedly
so. But perhaps the greatest honour they have been given, is to appear
on the same bill as the mighty U2 during their summer Vertigo tour. A statement in itself, I should say! |
