''Cross Bones' - review by Chris High

Bestselling author Kathy Reichs

Kathy Reichs is a forensic anthropologist for the Offices of the Chief Medical Examiner, State Of North Carolina and also of Laboratorie de Sciences Judiciares et de Medecine for the province of Quebec. As such, she is frequently asked to give expert testimony in criminal trials and gets involved with they type of crime she fictionalises, on a regular basis.

As the adage goes, Write What You Know.

Kathy Reichs' first novel, Deja Dead, went straight to the top of The Sunday Times bestseller list and won the author the Best First Novel with a Crime Theme award at the 1998 Arthur Ellis awards. This has been followed with equal successes by seven other novels, with the latest being Cross Bones.

There is also a television series, Brennan, set to hit the screen in September of 2005 that Dr Reichs has co-produced, which will ensure that both Reichs and her creation will capture even greater success in the years ahead.
A Professor of Anthropology at the University of North Carolina, Kathy divides her time between Charlotte and Montreal.
