"Well
the eye came from my manager Kenny Thomson, he literally woke up
in the middle of the night and said 'I've got a great idea for a record
cover'. Because it is an ongoing process, coming up not only with a title,
for me 'The Road To Freedom' was an easy one to come up with because
it was the title of a song and a new venture for me.
But Kenny said 'I've got this great idea about an eye' so he and I, worked
on it, talked about it, changed it. The eye itself is my daughter Rosanna.
Ironically the picture inside the eye is the globe and the place just
underneath her eyelid at the top is the place where she won the Miss World
competition in China.
And there is a picture of a guitar, if you look
carefully there is a guitar as it were, that's me going around the world.
And her uncle, keeping it in the family, her uncle Davy - my wife's Brother,
took the photograph because he's a professional photographer."

This time I wanted to go back to the solo performance because of the hundred and ten shows I did last year, about seventy were with the band all over the place and forty solo.
I did a tour of Russia solo, Canada and around Europe - just me, guitar, piano, a few songs, a few stories, my favourites, other peoples favourites and that's what I had in my mind when I wrote the songs for 'The Road To Freedom'."
